Twenty questions drawn from across the 2025 civics list, in roughly the proportions of the list itself: three from the principles of American government, six from the system of government, two on rights and responsibilities, three from the colonial period, two from the 1800s, three from recent history and one symbol. The pass mark is the one you will face: twelve correct out of twenty.
Why another set of practice tests. The six practice tests in this category each cover a slice of the list, so none of them feels quite like the real test, where questions can come from any part of the list. This mock does that. Mock tests A and B share no questions, so together they give you forty different questions from the list.
The questions are asked in the officer's words, exactly as they appear in the USCIS list ("Name one power of the president.", not a rephrased version), because that is what you will hear. Each has four options and one accepted answer. The wrong options are clearly wrong, but they are chosen to sit close to the right one: 435 next to 100 and 535, Yorktown next to Gettysburg, the Senate next to the Cabinet. The explanation lists every answer USCIS accepts for the question and says briefly why each wrong option belongs somewhere else.
The twenty cards repeat the same questions for recall practice: the USCIS question on the front, every accepted answer on the back. After you take the quiz, go through the cards and answer aloud without options. That is closer to the real test.
Scoring yourself. Count your correct answers. Twelve or more is the pass mark on the real test. If you are below it, the explanations show which section to go back to; the recall decks in this category are organized by section of the list.
The eight questions whose answers change or depend on where you live are not in this mock; the look-up checklist in this category covers them.
On test day nothing is multiple choice and nothing is on a card: the officer reads the question aloud and you answer in your own words. Say each answer out loud while you study, because that is what you will do in the interview. This is independent practice; it is not produced or endorsed by USCIS, and no practice material can promise a result.

Name one thing the U.S. Constitution does.
Protects the rights of the people
"Protects the rights of the people" is accepted. USCIS accepts: Forms the government · Defines powers of government · Defines the parts of government · Protects the rights of the people. The Declaration of Independence declared independence, the Emancipation Proclamation freed slaves, and the national anthem is not set by the Constitution.
